sabine

In the darkness the air is thick with humidity and electricity sparks through the air. You are unsuspecting, and yet you feel a tingle creep down your spine. Thunder booms. Lightning cracks. There, posed in a single ray of silver moonlight, sabine appears. Elevated and powerful, dark chestnut waves cascading down her back, eyes lined in khol, she waits.

Do you run? No, it is too late. Slow controlled movements wrap around you like a warm blanket, while ticks, pops and spins keep you on edge. She calls forth the elements…earth…wind…rain…fire… Rooted as the oak, she is entrusted with hours of wisdom from the dark fusion mothers.

There is no hope. As the storm rolls on, you are entrapped by sabine’s own rhythm. Then it is over. She slides back into the shadows to whisper her wisdom to her growing followers.

Since 2003, sabine has studied at the acclaimed Cassandra School. On top of this strong foundation, sabine has embraced the stylings of Tribal Fusion to become a Tribal Fusion pioneer in the Twin Cities. Following the teachings of Ariellah, Zoe, Rachel Brice and Sharon Kihara, sabine combines elements of other styles, including Indian and hip-hop, to create a dynamic, enigmatic, earthly energy on the stage.

sabine joined Afsana in 2009 and has performed at around the Twin Cities, as well as at Fringe Festival, Northern Lights Bellydance Festival and 3rd Coast Tribal. This summer she will also be performing at Tribal Fest and Tribal Revolutions.

sabine teaches an intermediate/advanced Tribal Fusion class for the Banat el Kamar school. Here sabine blends her love of helping and empowering students for a better understanding of and comfort in their bodies.
