Past Performers

In the fall of 2006, Akasha started Afsana Sisters with Verthandi and Noya, with the intent to perform many styles of dance within bellydance.  The word Afsana means legend or fairytale, which is why it was chosen, as we want each of our performances tell a story.  Luu Luu joined in the fall of 2007, and in Fall of 2008, the troupe name changed to Afsana, with the joining of Nilat, sabine, and Iscah.  Foreign soils and new dance directions have taken some of the sisters.  Now Akasha, Nilat, and sabine push the world fusion envelope with their innovative performances.
